Local design, shared craftsmanship, and cultural inspiration
Our boat is not just a means of sailing: it is a project born and entirely realized in Raiatea, in collaboration with passionate professionals, to offer our passengers comfort, safety, and meaning.
The design of the structure was entrusted to Marinalu, a shipyard well known for the quality of its constructions in Polynesia. Several adjustments and fittings were then carefully thought out by the captain, in close collaboration with the builder. The goal? To ensure optimal comfort on board, smooth movement, and an enjoyable sailing experience, even in changing conditions.
But the story of our boat does not end with its construction. We wanted it to reflect who we are, to tell a story, and to embody what we deeply love about our culture. To achieve this, we collaborated with a Marquesan tattoo artist, known as Toua TIKIPATU, or Toua HAPIPI by his real name, whom the captain’s wife had the chance to meet during a trip to the Marquesas. A natural connection formed, and together we exchanged ideas extensively about what we wanted to bring to life on the boat.
Words, values, symbols came to mind…
And the best way to express them, in our eyes, was through Marquesan tattoo art. This tattoo style fascinates us: it is a form of art, but also a language, a strong cultural heritage, conveying identity and protection. Incorporating it into our boat was, for us, a tribute to this culture and its powerful form of expression.
The final design, once imagined, was applied as a wrap by Publicité Jean-Luc in Raiatea. It was a complex, meticulous, and highly precise work that required time and expertise.
Everything was conceived locally and made locally. It is our way of showcasing local talent, supporting the local economy, and offering you a unique experience rooted in authenticity and respect for our culture.
